Liposuction remains one of the most popular plastic surgeries in Miami and throughout America. Advancing technologies have made way for new liposuction options such as laser liposuction with SmartLipo™. All forms of liposuction involve breaking up fat cells and removing them with a cannula (a small hollow tube). SmartLipo™ improves on this technique by using a laser to liquefy and destroy the fat cells before removing them with a temperature-sensing cannula.
Laser Liposuction Results & Recovery
The SmartLipo™ procedure has a variety of benefits which include greater control and precision, a reduction in side effects and improved skin tightening. Some patients may experience loose skin following fat removal with traditional liposuction, but the heat from the SmartLipo™ laser stimulates skin tightening by promoting the production of collagen and elastin. Collagen and elastin are natural proteins found in your skin that are responsible for youthful, taut skin.
Recovery time is also reduced with laser liposuction. SmartLipo™ melts the fat cells first, making them easier to remove with a cannula, which in turn, cuts back on bruising and swelling following the procedure. SmartLipo™ also requires fewer incisions, leaving you with less risk of scarring.
Liposuction in any form is still a surgical procedure and should not be used in place of diet and exercise. It’s important for you to be as close to your goal weight as possible, in good health and a non-smoker.
