Our faces are one of the first parts of the body to show signs of aging. Wrinkles are commonly caused by a multitude of things, such as collagen depletion, damage from free radicals, cellular changes, and contraction of the facial muscles. Botox injections help to temporarily reduce the activity of muscles and reduce the appearance of lines. If you are in Ft. Lauderdale area and want to learn more about Botox, contact The Weston Center for Aesthetic Medicine and Surgery at (954) 526-0066 for more information.
The frequency in which you get Botox is not based on the age of the patient like some may believe. The effects of Botox can last anywhere from 2 months to 6 months depending on the individual. Botox is generally repeated every 3-5 months on an as needed basis, but the actual frequency is dependent on your unique needs and the results you wish to achieve.
There is no one factor that determines the length in which your results will last. Regardless of how long your results last, it is not recommended for any patient to receive a Botox injection in the same injection site more than every three months.
